Role of Media in Disaster Management

The role of media in the disaster management is not been well understood until recent times. But with the implications made by the media and also with the growth of the media and its advancement, its role is understood in more broader manner.
The Role of media is not only important in reporting during the disasters, instead its role in creating public awareness is more important. In Bhutan the role of media in such discipline is still at very elementary. None of the media organizations have actually made any preparations on such issue. Even the public education by the media in Bhutan is still very limited. But the Royal Government of Bhutan has actually developed a lot of strategy to deal with the situation since 1994 GLOF in Punakha.
