Soccer vs Archery in Bhutan

With the change in the lifestyle and exposure to the rest of the world, the way Bhutanese reaction towards soccer has changed. Even for a small football tournament that is underway in Changlimithang is witnessed by hundred of spectators including the senior citizens. The football as a sport have taken over the well known olden time and now national game, Archery. This can very well be seen well these days. The Yangphel Archery Tournament underway in Thinphu loses all its spectators as soon as the soccer tournament starts in the evening. Its is infact shocking that even the grandpas and grandmas walk away from the Archery field to soccer field.
